Search terms entered in a search box are sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. A message sent through a contact channel may include the sender’s name, email address, and anything placed in the message. Web servers and service providers may also receive technical details such as an IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate time of access. Cookies or similar technologies may remember preferences, measure use, support advertising, and help the site function.
How Information Is Used

Contact details are used to respond to the message that supplied them. This site does not control the records held under Michigan FOIA, MCL 15.231 through 15.246, or the data practices of the government offices linked from its pages.

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online system or transmission can be guaranteed secure. Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received, operational needs, dispute resolution, or legal duties.

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. It does not knowingly seek personal information from minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review.
